ChurchCRM/CRM

★ 961 · PHP · MIT · updated Sep 2026

Free, open-source church management software for people, families, groups, events, attendance, giving, volunteers, and more. No subscription. Your data is yours.

A self-hosted, MIT-licensed CRM built specifically for churches to track members, families, groups, events, attendance, giving, and volunteers. It's aimed at small-to-mid-size congregations that want their own data on their own server instead of a SaaS subscription, and at PHP devs willing to work in an old-school codebase to get there.

The Cypress suite is genuinely large and split sensibly (public vs private API, admin vs standard UI, per-feature specs for calendar, finance, groups, kiosk, etc.), which is rare for a project this size. CI is more mature than the README lets on: dedicated workflows for Docker security scanning, static security analysis, and dependabot review, plus a real release-prepare/publish pipeline. Localization isn't an afterthought — 49 locales with a generated poeditor audit report and a documented sync workflow. There's an actual plugin system with its own security-scan and compliance skill docs, not just a hook you're on your own with.

The README is almost entirely marketing (demo links with UTM params, five social badges, a repobeats image) and tells you nothing about the stack, data model, or how the admin panel is structured — you have to dig into DEVELOPING.md or the skills folder for that. The presence of an `admin-mvc-migration` skill doc signals the codebase is mid-transition, i.e. you'll hit both old procedural PHP and newer MVC code in the same app. It's PHP without a modern framework (there's a `modern-php-frameworks` skill doc, suggesting even the maintainers are debating this), so expect DIY routing/ORM patterns rather than Laravel/Symfony conventions. Domain is narrow enough (church-specific fields: giving, volunteer opportunities, family units) that adapting it for any other nonprofit use case means real surgery, not configuration.
