Codelessly/ResponsiveFramework

Easily make Flutter apps responsive. Automatically adapt UI to different screen sizes. Responsiveness made simple. Demo: https://gallery.codelessly.com/flutterwebsites/minimal/

A widget-based responsiveness layer for Flutter that lets you define named breakpoints (mobile/tablet/desktop/custom) and either resize or proportionally scale your UI at each one. Aimed at Flutter devs shipping the same codebase to phone, tablet, desktop, and web who don't want to hand-roll MediaQuery checks everywhere.

The breakpoint API (largerThan, smallerThan, between, equals) reads better than raw MediaQuery.of(context).size checks scattered through a codebase. AutoScale addresses a real, specific problem: a phone-sized AppBar or button looking broken on a 1920px screen, by scaling proportionally instead of just stretching. It's a set of composable widgets (ResponsiveRowColumn, ResponsiveGridView, MaxWidthBox) that sit inside normal Flutter layout code rather than demanding you rebuild your widget tree around them. 1.4k stars and a pub.dev release history suggest it's actually been run against real apps, not just a proof of concept.

The README admits there's no wiki and asks users to write one, which means anything beyond basic usage isn't documented anywhere. Contributors list is essentially one person (Ray Li) plus two occasional others, so this is a single-maintainer bus-factor risk for a package with 1400+ dependents. The global ResponsiveBreakpoints.builder approach means retrofitting this into an app that already has ad-hoc MediaQuery logic can produce conflicting resize behavior that's hard to debug. Last push was June 2025 with no changelog entries visible for anything recent, so it's worth checking open issues before assuming active maintenance.
