Tekken 6 (Xbox 360) native on Windows with rollback netcode - build from your own ISO

// the take

A launcher that statically recompiles Tekken 6 for Xbox 360 into a native Windows x86/DirectX 12 binary, built locally from a disc image you already own, and bolts on GGPO-style rollback netcode and an online lobby. It's for Tekken 6 players who want decent online play on PC and are willing to build from their own ISO rather than emulate.

Static recompilation of console PowerPC code into a native Windows executable is real systems work, not a thin emulator wrapper, and it credits the underlying tekken6-recomp effort instead of claiming the groundwork as its own. Rollback netcode replaces the delay-based netcode that made the original Xbox 360 online mode largely unplayable over real internet connections, which is the actual problem worth solving here. The build pipeline never redistributes game assets — the package only ships code, and you compile against your own verified ISO, which sidesteps the usual piracy complaint leveled at console ports. The launcher self-updates and only forces a rebuild when the recompiled game code itself changes, not on every patch.

The 'open source' repo is a one-way mirror: patches land as single squashed commits with no real history, so there's no way to review how a change was actually made or send a PR against live development — it's a release feed, not a collaborative codebase. Compatibility is locked to one exact disc version (USA/Europe, Rev 1); any other region or revision is flatly refused by the builder, which will immediately exclude a chunk of owners. No license is stated anywhere, so the legal status of the recompiled build, the build tooling, or forking any of it is unclear, and reverse-engineered proprietary console code sits in a legal gray zone independent of the no-assets-bundled argument. It's a single-maintainer project with no visible CI, tests, or issue tracker, and every install involves a bespoke local compile of translated console code — the crash and security surface of that translation layer is unproven compared to mature emulators that have had years of fuzzing and community scrutiny.
