Fuel Network Rust SDK

// the take

fuels-rs is Fuel Network's official Rust SDK: compile, deploy, and call Sway smart contracts, generate type-safe Rust bindings from a contract's ABI, and craft/sign transactions against a Fuel node. It's for Rust developers building specifically on Fuel, not a general blockchain SDK.

The abigen macro generates Rust bindings straight from the Sway ABI JSON, so a contract's types and methods are compile-time checked instead of discovered at runtime. The docs are unusually deep for a chain SDK - a full mdbook covering KMS signing, predicates, multicalls, tx policies, low-level calls - not just a quickstart. Local test wallets and local node spin-up make the test suite fast without hitting a live network, and there's a separate WASM test target for browser/predicate use cases.

It's a hard dependency on Fuel's own toolchain (forc, fuel-core binaries) on top of cargo, so setup is more involved than a typical crate. The project's own feature checklist still has wallet integration and event querying/monitoring unchecked, which are things you'd expect a mature chain SDK to already have. The FAQ has a dedicated entry for 'what to do when tests fail on master' that amounts to cargo clean + delete Cargo.lock, which is a tell that build fragility is common enough to need documenting. Most fundamentally, the SDK's value is entirely tied to Fuel Network's own adoption - this is a bet on the chain, not a tool with use outside that ecosystem.
