🔮 Very Simple ERC-721 Smart Contract Template to create your own ERC-721 Tokens on the Ethereum Blockchain, with many customizable options 🔮
A single-file ERC-721 example contract for minting simple in-game items (name, level, rarity) on Ethereum. It's aimed at complete beginners who want to see a minimal NFT contract with the boilerplate spelled out, not at anyone shipping a real token.
Every line of Item.sol has an inline comment explaining what it does, which is genuinely useful for someone who has never touched Solidity. It also vendors the full dependency chain locally (ERC721.sol, IERC721.sol, IERC165.sol, SafeMath.sol, Address.sol) instead of pointing at an OpenZeppelin import, so you can read the whole stack in one repo.
Pinned to Solidity 0.4.24, which predates the 0.5+ breaking changes (old-style `function Item()` constructor, no `virtual`/`override`, implicit visibility) — this won't compile on any current toolchain without a rewrite, and 0.4.x has known compiler bugs you don't want in anything real. There's no test suite and no Hardhat/Foundry/Truffle project; the only documented workflow is pasting a Remix gist link. Access control is a single hardcoded `owner` check with no roles or transfer restrictions, and there's no token URI or metadata support, which any real NFT needs. The 2024 push date is misleading — the actual contract content is unmaintained 2018-era Solidity.
