A small Django REST API paired with a React notes frontend, packaged as one Docker image with a Jenkinsfile and an nginx reverse-proxy config. It is a teaching project for the TWS community, and 6,000+ forks against 268 stars suggests people copy it for a course rather than run it as a product.
The deployment path is all in one repo: Dockerfile, docker-compose.yml, Jenkinsfile, and an nginx directory with its own Dockerfile and default.conf, so you can see how the containers, CI, and reverse proxy connect. The stack is deliberately plain (Django REST Framework, a create-react-app frontend, SQLite), and the codebase is small enough to read in an afternoon, which matters more for a teaching repo than feature count.
The repo commits files that should stay out of version control: .env, db.sqlite3, __pycache__ folders, and built JS and CSS bundles with source maps. Anyone who clones it gets whatever is in .env and whatever notes are in that database, and the README's Python 3.9 requirement does not match the cpython-311 bytecode in the tree. The nginx section is two apt commands with no configuration, even though the repo ships nginx/default.conf, so the reverse proxy step is left for the reader to work out.
