My dotfiles (deployed by LARBS)

Luke Smith's personal dotfiles for a suckless-based Linux desktop (dwm, st, dwmblocks), installed via his LARBS bootstrap script. It's for people following his particular minimalist, keyboard-driven, mostly-TUI workflow, not a general-purpose config template.

The .local/bin scripts go well beyond config files — things like dmenupass, dmenuunicode, and the statusbar/sb-* modules are small, legible shell utilities that actually solve problems (password lookup, unicode entry, polybar-style status without polybar). Config is consistently pushed into ~/.config via XDG env vars in .zprofile instead of littering $HOME. LARBS pairs this with progs.csv so install is one curl command that also pulls in the matching suckless forks, rather than handing you orphaned configs for software you don't have.

Everything assumes the full stack — dwm/st/dwmblocks forks, specific suckless patches, pass, mpd/ncmpcpp, lf — so picking out just the zsh or nvim config means untangling cross-references to scripts that expect the rest of the setup to exist. Shell scripts are written for one person's machine, not for reuse: little argument validation, hardcoded assumptions about installed tools, no shellcheck or CI anywhere in the repo. Lifestyle-specific choices (Tor wrapper, torrent scripts, OTP tool) are mixed in with genuinely generic config, so there's manual pruning required before this is usable as anyone else's baseline. No versioning or changelog for a repo that gets pushed to directly — breaking changes to a script someone's cron job depends on (like cron/newsup) land with no warning.
