NexusDefense is tower defense game in League Of Legends universe. Now i'm going to create this game in Unity Engine. My youtube channel: youtube.com/PirateeCortez. This game is using GLUT and C++, objects are in MD2 format (Quake model system). Sorry for mess in code and no line comments ;D

A tower-defense game built with GLUT and fixed-function OpenGL in C, skinned entirely in League of Legends characters and assets (Alistar, Rammus, Udyr, etc. as MD2-format Quake models). It's a solo hobby project from 2017, abandoned mid-way through a planned Unity rewrite, and really only useful as source-diving reference for someone building a small GLUT/MD2-based game from scratch.

It does real legacy-engine plumbing: a working MD2 (Quake 2) model loader/animator, a custom binary level/wave format (Level.dat, Wave.dat) for defining enemy paths and spawn timing, and a handful of GLSL shaders (phong lighting, shadows, a slow-effect shader) layered on top of what's otherwise fixed-pipeline GLUT rendering. The asset organization (per-unit H/M/L model variants, separate turret attack/idle animations) shows someone who actually shipped a playable game loop, not just a tech demo.

Every League of Legends model, icon, and sound asset is lifted wholesale and shipped in the repo with no attribution or license carve-out — anyone forking this for anything beyond personal tinkering is adopting Riot Games' IP directly, which is a real legal problem, not a style nitpick. The author admits in the description there are no code comments and the code is a mess; there's no build script, no README beyond the description, and duplicate/renamed folders ('Nowy folder', 'Level3 — kopia') left in version control suggest the repo is a raw working directory, not a prepared release. It's been dead since February 2017 with zero stars, zero forks, and the stated plan was to abandon this codebase entirely for a Unity rewrite that never appeared here.
