// the take

A Streamlit app that scores a resume against ATS-style criteria, checks keyword gaps against a chosen job role, and bundles a resume builder plus an admin dashboard for whoever runs the service. Aimed at individual job seekers wanting a quick automated pass on their resume before applying, and scrapes job listings to suggest roles to target.

Keyword gap detection is tied to per-role profiles (config/job_roles.py) rather than one generic model, so the comparison is at least against something concrete instead of a vague 'ATS score'. There's a Dockerfile and packages.txt for OS-level deps, so the author clearly tried to make the Streamlit + PDF-parsing stack reproducible outside their own machine. A separate feedback module with its own schema.sql shows an actual attempt to collect and store user feedback rather than ship-and-forget.

The full poppler-24.08.0 Windows binary distribution — DLLs, .exe tools, headers, man pages — is committed directly into the repo, plus a duplicate poppler.zip of the same thing; that's tens of MB of someone else's compiled binaries with no build provenance, Windows-only, which makes the Docker image and any non-Windows dev setup suspect since there's no equivalent Linux build in the tree. jobs/linkedin_scraper.py plus webdriver_utils.py point to Selenium-driven LinkedIn scraping, which breaks on every LinkedIn DOM change, violates LinkedIn's ToS, and risks the scraping account getting flagged — this is the feature most likely to silently stop working. The description advertises a 'secure admin dashboard for user management' but there's no visible auth, session, or rate-limiting module in the tree, so that claim shouldn't be taken at face value for something handling resumes and job-search activity. Zero stars, zero forks, and no CI or test files visible means this hasn't been exercised by anyone beyond the author yet.
