Material Design components for Blazor and Razor Components
MatBlazor brings Material Design Components Web (MDC) styling to Blazor, giving you Material-styled buttons, text fields, tables, date pickers, and dialogs without hand-rolling CSS. It's aimed at .NET devs who want a Material look without pulling in a JS framework, but as of the maintainer's own announcement it's no longer actively maintained.
Wide component surface — tables, autocomplete, tree view, file upload, virtual scroll — more coverage than most Blazor UI libraries attempted in the pre-MudBlazor era. Works with both EditContext-based validation and generic TValue binding across inputs, so it integrates with standard Blazor forms rather than inventing its own form model. Ships as a straightforward NuGet package with no build step required on the consumer side.
Explicitly unmaintained — the README links to a retrospective post, not a roadmap, and the last meaningful activity is years behind the current Blazor release cadence (targets .NET 6, nothing newer). Depends on a CSS/JS bundle pulled from MDC Web rather than being pure C#, so you're carrying a JS dependency into a framework whose whole pitch is avoiding that. The changelog shows a long history of one-off community PRs merged by a single maintainer rather than a stable core team, which is a bad sign for getting security or breaking-change fixes going forward. Anyone adopting this today is better served by MudBlazor or Radzen, both of which are actively maintained and track current .NET releases.
