ShopifyAPI library allows Python developers to programmatically access the admin section of stores
The official Python client for Shopify's Admin API, wrapping REST (via pyactiveresource) and GraphQL access with OAuth session handling. It's officially deprecated in favor of shopify-app-python, so this is for maintaining legacy integrations, not starting new ones.
Wide resource coverage — nearly every Admin API resource (orders, products, fulfillments, metafields, etc.) has a corresponding class, so you're not hand-rolling REST calls. Handles the OAuth dance and HMAC/timing-attack validation for you in Session.request_token. Ships a GraphQL client alongside REST, plus a console script (shopify_api.py) for poking at a store interactively.
Deprecated with no new features or security fixes — the README points straight at shopify-app-python, and Shopify is killing the REST Admin API for new apps in 2025 anyway, so most of this library's surface area is already a dead end. Built on pyactiveresource, an ActiveResource port that's its own unmaintained dependency and a layer of indirection most Python devs won't have context for. No async support and no persistent connections, called out explicitly as a limitation, which matters for anything hitting rate limits at scale.
