🚀 PR Agent: The Original Open-Source PR Reviewer. This project is not the Qodo free tier.
PR-Agent is an LLM code review bot that responds to /describe, /review, /improve, /ask and /similar_issue on pull requests in GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps and Gitea. It is for teams that want to self-host the reviewer and choose their own model, whether that is OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or a local Ollama instance. It is the open-source codebase Qodo donated to the community after its hosted product split off under the Qodo name.
The model layer goes through LiteLLM, so switching providers is a config change, and the docs cover Azure, Bedrock, Vertex and Ollama paths. Prompts and review categories live in TOML under pr_agent/settings, so you can tune the reviewer without forking the Python. The same core runs as a GitHub Action, a CLI, a Docker image, a webhook server and a Lambda build. The test split is sensible: tests/unittest runs without credentials, and the provider e2e suites are opt-in.
The privacy section is thin. It covers the case where you bring your own OpenAI key and links to OpenAI's policy, but says nothing about what a self-hosted deployment logs or sends to other providers, so read the code before pointing it at private repos. The GitHub Action example uses the-pr-agent/pr-agent@main, which means your PR checks change whenever upstream does; pin a tag or SHA. The /help_docs command has been disabled since v0.36.1 over a credential-exposure issue (#2445). The README's claim of about 30 seconds and low cost per tool call comes with no benchmark, and the README names only one external maintainer while the move to a foundation is still pending.
