// the take
CRMui3 is a small Arduino library that generates a web-based config/control UI for ESP8266 and ESP32 devices — think a built-in settings page for your IoT project instead of hardcoding values. It's aimed at Arduino hobbyists building embedded devices who want a UI without writing HTML/JS themselves.
The web UI (HTML, CSS, JS, fonts, even a chart/gauge library) is pre-converted into .h header files, so there's no separate build step or filesystem upload needed — it just compiles into the firmware. It explicitly supports both ESP8266 and ESP32 with pinned, tested core versions, and ships a working example sketch plus screenshots so you can see what you're getting before committing to it.
The author states plainly it's a hobby project by a non-programmer with no quality guarantees, and that shows: dependencies (ArduinoJson, AsyncTCP, ESPAsyncTCP, ESPAsyncWebServer) are vendored as .rar archives you manually unpack instead of being pulled via Arduino Library Manager or PlatformIO, so you lose any path to security or bugfix updates. It only works with ESP32 core 1.0.6 as tested, and the README admits newer cores (>2.0) require hand-editing a line in wi-fi.cpp to keep it building — a workaround that will keep rotting as Espressif's core moves forward. No tests, no CI, no tagged releases, and the last push was March 2024, so there's no signal this is actively maintained. Documentation and community support (Telegram channel, forum links) are Russian-only, which is a real barrier if you hit a problem and need help.
