Car Rental Platform with Mobile App
BookCars is a self-hosted car rental platform in TypeScript. It bundles a customer web frontend, an admin panel for fleets and bookings, and a React Native app for Android and iOS. It supports single-supplier and multi-supplier setups, so it is most useful as a starting point for a rental marketplace, less so for someone who only needs a booking page for a small fleet.
The pricing model is the most substantial part: hourly, daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly rates, plus date-based rate overrides. That is the kind of rule set that often gets rebuilt badly in every rental project. Payments go through Stripe and PayPal, with pay-at-counter and deposit options, so a business can start without committing to one gateway. The multi-supplier mode with a per-supplier admin panel is a real architectural decision, not a bolted-on feature. CI runs build and test workflows and publishes coverage, which is a good sign for a codebase with this many moving parts.
The line 'Secure against XSS, XST, CSRF, MITM, and DDoS attacks' is a blanket claim with no mechanism named, and DDoS protection is mostly an infrastructure concern rather than something application code can promise. Treat it as unverified until you have read the auth and request-handling code. Most operational detail lives in an external wiki, including self-hosting, payment setup and building the mobile app, so the repo alone does not show what it takes to run this in production. iOS is listed as a supported platform, but the only install path shown in the README is a sideloaded Android APK.
