🍿 A cross-browser library of CSS animations. As easy to use as an easy thing.

A drop-in CSS animation library — add a class like `animate__bounce` to an element and it plays. It's aimed at anyone who wants stock UI motion (fades, bounces, shakes, flips) without writing keyframes or reaching for a JS animation library.

Zero JS dependency and no runtime cost beyond the stylesheet — it's just classes and keyframes. Respects `prefers-reduced-motion` out of the box, which most hand-rolled CSS animation code skips. The source is split into one file per animation, so a custom build that only ships the 5 animations you actually use is straightforward.

You still need your own JS to remove the class after the animation ends (or it replays on re-render) — the library doesn't provide that glue. The full `animate.min.css` is ~80KB if you don't bother with a custom build, which is easy to forget. Development has slowed noticeably — last push was mid-2024, and it's essentially a finished catalog rather than an actively evolving project. The animation set itself is the same set every bootstrap-era site used a decade ago, so it reads as generic/dated on a modern product UI.
