🚦 Cachet, the open-source, self-hosted status page system.

Cachet is a self-hosted status page system built on Laravel, letting you publicly communicate service incidents and component health. Version 3.x is a ground-up rewrite that is still very much in progress — the directory tree is essentially a bare Laravel skeleton with almost nothing domain-specific in it yet.

15k stars and years of production use on the v2 line means the concept is proven and the community knows how to run it. Laravel foundation gives you a well-understood deployment story on any PHP 8.2+ host. Multi-database support (Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite) covers most self-hosted environments. The v3 rewrite announcement is transparent about what's changing and why, which is more than most projects manage.

The v3 codebase in the repo right now is a near-empty Laravel scaffold — no status page logic, no incident model, no API routes, nothing in resources/views. If you cloned this today you would not get a working status page. The gap between the 15k-star reputation and the actual current state of the code is a trap for anyone who doesn't read carefully. No timeline is committed for when v3 reaches feature parity with v2, and v2 is effectively unmaintained. Adopting this now means betting on a rewrite with no shipping date.
