Cassidy's blog template built with Astro and TinaCMS!

A personal blog starter built on Astro with TinaCMS wired in for content editing. It's a template repo — you clone it, swap in your details, and you have a fast static blog with an optional web-based editor. Aimed at developers who want something running in an afternoon without building from scratch.

Astro is a genuinely good choice here: static output, fast builds, and MDX-ready if you need it. TinaCMS gives non-technical collaborators a Git-backed editor without a database, which is the right tradeoff for a personal blog. RSS is included and styled with an XSL sheet, which is rare and appreciated. Actively maintained — last push was this week.

TinaCMS requires a tina.io account and three separate API keys just to run locally; that's unnecessary friction for what is supposed to be a simple blog. The setup checklist in the README is long and scattered across five different files — someone will miss the Twitter meta tag or the robots.txt URL and deploy with stale defaults. There's no search, no pagination on the posts list, and no dark mode toggle despite the color scripting infrastructure being there. This is a good personal blog, not a general-purpose template — forking Cassidy's own opinions about layout and navigation out is real work.
