Yet another lua task library, n:m scheduler
ltask is an n:m scheduler for Lua by the skynet author, letting you run many Lua VM "services" over a fixed pool of OS threads, with request/response messaging between them. It's for people building actor-style concurrent systems in embedded Lua (game servers, in-process service meshes) who want skynet's model without the whole skynet framework attached.
Message passing and serialization (lua-seri.c) are handled in C, so cross-VM calls avoid the usual copy-everything-through-Lua overhead. The root/spawn model is a genuinely small primitive - one file (root.lua) to bootstrap new services - rather than a framework imposing structure on you. Comes from cloudwu, who already proved this scheduling model works at scale in skynet, so the n:m design isn't speculative.
README is a single toy example - no docs on the actual API surface (timeout, sleep, call semantics, error propagation across services, message size limits). No docs directory and no versioned releases, so you're reading src/*.c to understand behavior. Windows support looks thin given sockevent.h and thread.h split by platform, but there's no CI matrix showing it's tested there - only asan.yaml, which implies Linux-only validation. Test coverage is a handful of scripts run via `lua test.lua`, not a real test suite, so regressions in the scheduler internals would be easy to miss.
