Mupen64Plus AE with Rollback Netcode support
M64PLUS R ports RMG-K's rollback netcode into Mupen64Plus AE, the Android front end for Mupen64Plus, so Android players can join online matches with RMG-K players on PC. The README says the project is discontinued for now and reads as a running log of patches 14 through 54. It suits Android developers or N64 emulation hobbyists who want to pick up an unfinished netplay branch, not players who want a working app.
Rollback lives in the core rather than the UI: there are M64CMD_ROLLBACK_* commands, a deterministic emulation mode, per-frame input callbacks, and a rollback-aware dynarec for ARM, ARM64, x86 and x86_64. The lobby client keeps protocol compatibility with RMG-K 0.9.14, so it talks to an existing PC client instead of a new server. Each patch entry says what it fixed and why, such as the gekkoTick deadlock in Patch 50 and the mutex around latched input in Patch 42, which makes the history easy to follow. CI builds the APK and a source tarball on every push to main, and the crash logger writes unhandled exceptions to a file the user can send back.
The README opens by saying the project is discontinued temporarily and that the author may not come back to it. Most of the patches from 38 to 54 add logging, counters and periodic summaries for socket errors and missing frames, which suggests the problems are still being chased through logs. The README never says a two-player session has been confirmed working end to end. No test suite or replay harness is mentioned, so rollback timing bugs can only be found by building an APK and playing it. The docs are in Portuguese and already drift out of sync: the download section names mupen64plus-ae-rollback-patch42.tar.gz while the header says Patch 54. On Windows the build also needs Git, Python, awk and the VC++ redistributable on top of the Android SDK and a matching NDK.
