craftzdog/solarized-osaka.nvim
🏯 A clean, dark Neovim theme written in Lua, with support for lsp, treesitter and lots of plugins.
A Solarized-derived dark (and light/vivid) colorscheme for Neovim, built on the same architecture as folke/tokyonight.nvim. It's for anyone who likes Solarized's palette but wants out-of-the-box highlight groups for modern plugins rather than hand-patching an old vim colorscheme.
Plugin coverage is genuinely wide — there are dedicated highlight files for 40+ plugins (telescope, treesitter, noice, neo-tree, mini.*, gitsigns, etc.), so you're unlikely to see unstyled UI chrome. The on_colors/on_highlights hooks let you override individual colors or groups without forking the repo, which is the right extension point. It also ships matching theme files for ~35 external terminals and tools (kitty, alacritty, wezterm, tmux, delta, bat-adjacent configs), so your whole terminal stack can match, not just Neovim.
The groups/ directory structure and even the README screenshot (hosted under folke/tokyonight.nvim's own asset URL) make clear this is architecturally a tokyonight.nvim fork with a Solarized palette swapped in, not an independent color engine — worth knowing if you're expecting original highlight logic or want to track upstream tokyonight fixes separately. There's no visual regression testing for the highlight groups, so a plugin API change (e.g. a renamed highlight group) could silently break styling until someone notices and files an issue. It's effectively a single-maintainer project — fine for a colorscheme, but don't expect fast turnaround on new plugin support beyond what's already there. transparent defaults to true in the example config, which surprises people who copy-paste it expecting a solid background.
