Distributed web crawler admin platform for spiders management regardless of languages and frameworks. 分布式爬虫管理平台,支持任何语言和框架

Crawlab is a Go/Vue admin platform for deploying, scheduling, and monitoring web crawlers written in any language, not just Scrapy-based ones. It's aimed at teams running many spiders across multiple machines who want a UI and centralized logging instead of hand-rolled cron jobs and SSH tailing.

Genuinely language-agnostic: a crawl task is just a shell command with a CRAWLAB_TASK_ID env var, so Python/Node/Java/Go spiders all work the same way, unlike ScrapydWeb or Gerapy which are locked to Scrapyd. The master/worker split communicates over gRPC and uses SeaweedFS for spider file sync, so horizontal scaling is a real architectural feature, not bolted on. It's actually maintained — 12k+ stars, push in Feb 2026, and there are real test files under core/controllers, core/config, core/fs rather than a repo that's all handlers and no tests. One-command docker-compose bring-up with no manual MongoDB setup.

You're now operating three stateful systems (MongoDB, SeaweedFS, the Crawlab cluster itself) just to manage crawlers — that's a lot of infrastructure surface for what smaller teams might do with cron and a log aggregator. The project's own comparison table admits it has no spider versioning. Primary community support is a WeChat QR code, not GitHub Discussions or Discord, which is a real friction point if you don't speak Chinese — the English README is explicitly the secondary translation. Nothing in the README addresses auth hardening, RBAC scope, or multi-tenancy despite this being a web-exposed admin panel with code execution built in, which is exactly the kind of thing you want documented before putting it anywhere near the internet.
