This was Microsoft's reference microservices sample showing DDD, containers, and event-driven patterns in .NET, but it's now archived and superseded by dotnet/eShop. Useful only as a historical reference or if you specifically need the old .NET 7 era architecture.
Historically was a solid reference for CQRS, event bus with RabbitMQ, and Docker Compose orchestration across multiple services. Had real production-adjacent patterns (API gateways, identity server integration, ordering saga) instead of toy examples.
Repo is archived and read-only, so no fixes or updates land here anymore - anyone landing on this instead of dotnet/eShop is working from stale code. The README gives zero technical content now, just a redirect, so you have to dig into the dev branch to get anything useful. Given the redirect, there's no reason to fork or build on this over the actively maintained successor.
