Redmine is a flexible project management web application written using Ruby on Rails framework. http://github.com/edavis10/redmine is the official git mirror of the svn repository
Redmine is a mature, self-hosted project management app for teams that want issue tracking, wikis, Gantt charts, and time logging in one Rails app, with pluggable support for Git, SVN, Mercurial, CVS, and Bazaar repos. It's aimed at teams (often internal IT or dev shops) who want an on-prem alternative to Jira and are willing to run and maintain a Rails/DB stack themselves.
The feature set is genuinely deep for a self-hosted tool: custom fields, per-project roles/permissions, multiple repository backend adapters (app/models/repository/*), LDAP auth, 2FA, and a REST API (visible via the .api.rsb view templates) rather than just an HTML frontend. The plugin architecture and workflow/permission model (workflow_rule, workflow_transition, workflow_permission) are legitimately flexible for modeling different team processes without forking the app.
This GitHub repo is explicitly a mirror of an SVN project, and the last push here is from 2022 — real development happens upstream on redmine.org's SVN, so issues/PRs filed on GitHub may go nowhere and the repo looks abandoned when it likely isn't. The codebase leans on old Rails conventions (.js.erb views for AJAX responses, jQuery-era patterns) rather than any modern frontend approach, so extending the UI means working against a fairly dated stack. It's also self-hosted only with no managed/SaaS option, so adopting it means owning the Rails app, database, and background job infrastructure yourself.
