A Simple and Isomorphic GraphQL Client for JavaScript

A tiny (4kb gzipped), dependency-free GraphQL client for browser and Node, built before Apollo/urql dominated the space. It's aimed at people who want to fire off GraphQL queries without pulling in a full client stack, with some DSL sugar on top for fragments and variable declaration.

The query merging feature (batch multiple named queries into one HTTP request via merge/commit) is a genuinely useful idea that most lightweight clients skip entirely. Zero runtime dependencies and a 4kb footprint are real, not marketing fluff - you can audit the whole thing in graphql.js in one sitting. The @autodeclare variable-typing trick (inferring GraphQL types from JS values, with ID detection via /_id/i) removes a lot of the usual query boilerplate.

Dead since March 2023, and the project was already running on Travis CI, which shut down its open-source free tier years ago - the badge is a tombstone. No TypeScript definitions anywhere in the tree, so you get zero autocomplete or compile-time safety on queries or responses, which is a hard sell in 2026. There's no caching, deduplication, or normalized store of any kind - every call hits the network, so anyone outgrowing a handful of queries will hit a wall and have to migrate to something like urql anyway. Query merging explicitly can't handle multiple root fields per query, which is a real constraint the moment your queries get non-trivial.
