[outdated/deprecated] My rules coding for HTML, CSS and JavaScript development
A personal HTML/CSS/JS style guide from felipefialho (formerly LFeh), written as a single long README with good/bad code snippets. It's explicitly flagged by the author as outdated and deprecated, and hasn't been touched since mid-2020.
The good/bad comparison format is genuinely easy to skim and copy from. It covers details most style guides skip, like HTML attribute ordering, BEM-flavored class naming (block__element--modifier), and using data-* attributes instead of classes as JS hooks to keep styling and behavior decoupled. It pulls from solid sources (Code Guide by @mdo, idiomatic.js, idiomatic-css) rather than inventing conventions from scratch, and it's been translated into Portuguese and Russian, which is a real signal it got used.
It's a markdown document of opinions, not a tool — no ESLint/Prettier/Stylelint config to actually enforce any of it, so there's nothing to install or run. The JS section recommends var over let/const and jQuery-style $(this) selectors, and the CSS preprocessor section assumes Stylus; none of that reflects how anyone writes JS or CSS today. Several rules are stated as absolutes with no rationale (alphabetical CSS property ordering, 'never use IDs') in an era of CSS custom properties, grid, and component-scoped styles where those tradeoffs look different. No activity, issues, or discussion since 2020 — it's a frozen personal preference doc, not a maintained standard.
