Pepperoni - React Native App Starter Kit for Android and iOS
A React Native starter kit from Futurice that bundles Redux, ImmutableJS, redux-loop, and React Navigation into an opinionated app skeleton. It's explicitly deprecated by its own README, which tells you to go use Expo or the official React Native docs instead — this is really only relevant now to someone maintaining a legacy app already built on it.
The testing setup is genuinely solid for its era: Jest for unit tests, Enzyme with a fully mocked React Native for component tests, and utilities for testing async Redux side effects. The service layer for REST calls is cleanly separated from UI/state code, and the CI configs (Travis, Bitrise) show a real working pipeline rather than a stub.
Pinned to React Native 0.49.3 from 2017 — the native module APIs, navigation, and build tooling have all changed enough that nothing here ports cleanly to a current RN project. Redux + ImmutableJS + redux-loop is a combination the ecosystem has largely moved past (redux-loop is unmaintained, ImmutableJS adds a serialization tax most teams no longer accept). Several advertised features (JWT auth, multi-environment config, error screens, Code Push, crash reporting) are marked TODO/coming soon in the README and were never finished. The repo is archived in spirit if not in GitHub settings — no commits addressing the deprecation beyond the warning banner.
