gitdagray/html_course

★ 1,197 · HTML · updated Apr 2024

Course companion repo for Dave Gray's 10-part YouTube HTML series. Each folder is a lesson checkpoint — starter code in, completed code out. Aimed squarely at people who have never written HTML before.

The progressive checkpoint structure is genuinely useful: you can jump to any lesson and have working code to diff against your own. The reference links in the README (MDN, W3C validator, HTML5 Outliner) point to the right places rather than w3schools rabbit holes. The final lesson builds a real multi-page site with nav, forms, and images rather than stopping at toy examples.

This is a static file dump, not a repo you adopt — there is nothing to install, extend, or contribute to. Last updated April 2024 and unlikely to change. No accessibility coverage beyond semantic elements (ARIA, keyboard nav, and screen reader testing are absent). The 900+ forks are almost entirely students copying homework, which inflates the apparent community signal.
