// the take

A tutorial repo, in Spanish, walking through five different ways to wire Mercado Pago payments into a Next.js App Router app: Checkout Pro, Checkout Bricks, Checkout API, subscriptions, and marketplace split payments. It's aimed at Latin American developers who need to accept Mercado Pago specifically, not a general payments library.

Each integration pattern is a separate, runnable app rather than one bloated example, so you can clone just the folder matching the flow you need (redirect-based, embedded form, or split payments). Webhook handling is treated seriously, with a dedicated setup guide for local port forwarding and payload verification, which is the part people usually get wrong. Covers the marketplace/split-payment case, which has real gaps in Mercado Pago's own docs.

It's example code, not a package: there's no SDK or npm module to install, so you're copy-pasting route handlers and adapting them yourself. Each of the five sub-apps uses a local SQLite file for messages, so none of it demonstrates a production data layer or shows how the webhook updates should be transactional against a real DB. Everything is Spanish-only, including the READMEs, which limits who can use it as a reference without translation. Single maintainer, and a repo like this tends to go stale as Mercado Pago's API and SDKs evolve, so check the integration code against current Mercado Pago docs before trusting it.

We read the README, the directory tree and a key source file in October 2026. Nobody pays to be listed. How we judge →
