Prometheus Oracle database exporter.

A Prometheus exporter for Oracle Database metrics, covering tablespace usage, wait events, session activity, and resource limits, with support for custom SQL-based metrics via TOML/YAML config. It's for anyone monitoring Oracle with Prometheus/Grafana who doesn't want to write their own exporter from scratch.

Since v0.5 it uses a pure Go Oracle driver instead of requiring the Oracle Instant Client binaries, which removes a genuinely annoying deployment dependency. The custom metrics system (arbitrary SQL mapped to gauges/counters with labels) is flexible enough to cover gaps in the default metric set without forking the code. It also supports multi-target scraping (`/scrape?target=host:1521`) so one exporter instance can cover a fleet of databases, and ships TLS/basic-auth via the standard exporter-toolkit web-config file.

The README leads with a maintainer notice that the project is no longer maintained and points users to Oracle's own official exporter instead — that's a real adoption blocker, not a cosmetic warning. The required grants are broad (SYS-level SELECT across several v$ and dba_ views), which is a hard sell to any DBA who takes least-privilege seriously. There are known data-quality rough edges called out in the FAQ, like values such as 'UNLIMITED' breaking the float conversion and needing manual CASE-statement workarounds in custom queries. It also has a side effect of generating a trace file per scrape on instances without ASM configured, which means someone needs to bolt on a cron job just to keep the diag directory from filling up.
