React component library for onchain applications - See README for modern alternatives
Ink Kit was a React component library for onchain apps (buttons, cards, modals, wallet connect via wagmi) built for the Ink chain ecosystem. It's for teams that already have it installed and need to maintain existing usage — not for anyone starting new work, since the maintainers archived it in October 2025 and the README itself points you elsewhere.
The theming system is a genuinely reasonable design: CSS variables layered under a class-based theme switcher (light/dark/contrast/neo/morpheus), so overriding colors doesn't require forking Tailwind config. The `ink:` class prefix avoids collisions with a host app's own Tailwind classes, which is a real problem most component libraries ignore. Wallet connection wraps wagmi directly rather than reinventing chain state management. Component set covers real gaps for onchain UI specifically (wallet connect button, onchain-flavored cards) rather than just being yet another generic button/input library.
Archived and dead: no fixes, no security patches, no updates as React or wagmi move forward — anyone still on this is accumulating risk with every dependency bump. Still shipping as 0.9.1-beta after presumably years of use, meaning it never reached a stable 1.0 API contract before being shelved. The README's own advice is to migrate to shadcn/ui, Radix, Chakra, or Mantine plus RainbowKit/ConnectKit for wallets — which tells you the maintainers themselves don't think the onchain-specific bundling was worth the tradeoff of a smaller, single-vendor ecosystem versus composing best-of-breed libraries. No migration guide provided despite recommending you leave.
