Plugins for Backstage: this repo is deprecated and archived. If you still depend on something from this repo, it's time to look for a replacement.

A large collection of Backstage plugins built by Red Hat's Janus IDP project — ArgoCD, Tekton, Keycloak, RBAC, OCM, Quay, and about 30 more. The repo was officially deprecated in August 2025; most plugins have migrated to the Red Hat Developer Hub or upstream Backstage community. If you're here because something broke, you need to find where each plugin went, not keep depending on this.

The RBAC plugin was one of the more complete permission-management solutions in the Backstage ecosystem — policy-based access control with a UI, not just the raw permission framework. The Tekton and topology plugins covered OpenShift-native workflows that upstream Backstage ignored for a long time. The dynamic plugin tooling (export-dynamic-plugin command, scalprum integration) was genuinely useful infrastructure for running Backstage without rebuilding the app on every plugin change. The shared-react package had solid pipeline visualization components that other plugins reused.

The repo is archived and frozen — any security issues, Backstage API breakage, or React version incompatibilities will never be fixed here. Migration paths for most plugins are underdocumented; the README just says 'find a replacement' without linking to where things went. The heavy Red Hat / OpenShift focus means many plugins (OCM, OpenShift image registry, web terminal) are useless outside that stack. The monorepo tooling (Yarn 3 + Turbo + custom CLI) makes it painful to extract a single plugin without pulling in the whole build setup.
