Agent skills for Obsidian. Teach your agent to use Obsidian CLI and open formats including Markdown, Bases, JSON Canvas.
A set of Agent Skills (SKILL.md files) that teach coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode how to read and write Obsidian's file formats — Markdown flavor, Bases, JSON Canvas — plus how to drive the Obsidian CLI. It's for developers who want an agent to actually manipulate an Obsidian vault instead of guessing at syntax.
Built on the open Agent Skills spec rather than a Claude-only format, so the same skills work in Codex and OpenCode without rewriting anything. Each skill is scoped to one format or tool (markdown, bases, canvas, cli) instead of one giant do-everything skill, which means an agent only loads the context it actually needs. Maintained by kepano, who is Obsidian's lead developer, so the Bases formula reference and callout/property syntax are coming from someone who wrote the spec, not someone reverse-engineering it.
No tests or CI checking the SKILL.md files against real Obsidian behavior — a stale formula example or wrong CLI flag would ship silently. No changelog or version pinning tied to Obsidian releases, so when Bases or JSON Canvas syntax changes, there's nothing here to flag that the skill is now out of date. Two of the six skills (defuddle, knap) wrap separate external projects, so their reliability is only as good as those repos' own upkeep, not this one's.
