An embedded Shopify app starter template made with Next.js and Prisma ORM, with all the required stuff hooked up.
An embedded Shopify app starter built on Next.js (Pages Router) and Prisma, wiring up OAuth, session storage, webhooks, and GDPR endpoints out of the box. Aimed at developers starting a new Shopify app who don't want to rebuild the boilerplate auth/webhook plumbing every Shopify app needs.
Covers the unglamorous Shopify-specific requirements most starters skip: HMAC/JWT request verification, the mandatory GDPR webhooks (customers_data_request, customers_redact, shop_redact), and declarative webhook/event registration helpers. The Prisma schema puts session storage behind an ORM, so swapping SQLite for Postgres or PlanetScale is a config change, not a rewrite. Docs/migration folder has dated upgrade guides for App Bridge CDN, managed installation, and client provider changes, which signals the maintainer actually tracks Shopify's frequent breaking API changes instead of letting the template rot. Debug pages for billing, scopes, and resource picker double as working reference implementations for Shopify API patterns that are otherwise only in prose docs.
Pages Router, not App Router — a reasonable choice when started but a dated foundation for something meant to anchor a new project today. No test suite anywhere in the tree; HMAC/webhook verification is precisely the kind of code where a subtle bug fails silently and a unit test would catch it. The `_developer/` code-generation scripts (tomlWriter, webhookWriter, eventWriter) aren't explained in the README, so it's unclear if they're meant for template consumers or are maintainer-only tooling. It's a single-maintainer project trying to cover OAuth, billing, webhooks, GDPR, and checkout extensions at once — a lot of surface area for one person to keep aligned with Shopify's API as it evolves.
