A Kotlin web framework

Kweb lets you build web UIs entirely in server-side Kotlin by treating the browser as a remote DOM: you manipulate elements and listen for events through a Kotlin DSL, and Kweb pushes the diffs over a WebSocket. It's aimed at Kotlin/JVM developers who want a Phoenix LiveView-style model instead of writing separate frontend JS.

The DSL genuinely mirrors HTML structure, so markup reads naturally in Kotlin rather than feeling bolted on. State handling via KVar/KVal gives you reactive rendering without a client-side framework at all — div { }.text(someKVar.map { ... }) just works. Built on Ktor rather than rolling its own HTTP/WebSocket stack, so you inherit a maintained transport layer instead of bespoke networking code.

The project is explicitly unmaintained as of June 2024 — the author states outright in the README that he's stepped back, citing Maven Central publishing friction, not a technical reason. There's an acknowledged, unfixed memory leak in InputElement with no committed timeline for a fix; the README tells you to run a profiler yourself. Last push was August 2024 with no indication of a new maintainer having taken over the fork. The server-renders-everything model also means every DOM update round-trips over the WebSocket, which is a real latency/scaling tradeoff this README doesn't address at all.
