ladjs/react-native-phone-verification
The best React Native example for phone verification (an alternative to Twitter Digits).
An example React Native app for the UI half of an SMS phone verification flow: country picker, number entry, code entry, and a loading overlay while requests are in flight. It is for developers who want to see how these pieces fit together on iOS and Android and then copy them into their own app, with their own backend doing the actual verification.
Each dependency covers one job, so you can swap them independently: react-native-country-picker-modal handles country and dial code selection, react-native-form handles the form, and react-native-loading-spinner-overlay handles the wait state. The README also names tcomb-form-native as an alternative form layer. Both native projects are checked in, including the Xcode project and Gradle files, so it runs as a whole app on both platforms rather than as a JavaScript-only sketch.
There is no backend in the repo. The tree has no server code, so generating codes, sending the SMS through Twilio or Plivo, and checking the code are all left to you, even though those providers appear in the topics. Android SMS auto-read is still only on the wishlist, so users type the code by hand. The setup steps are dated: they install react-native-cli globally and run react-native init, and the project carries Flow config and Buck files, so following the README today will not produce a current project. The last push was in January 2026, so expect to spend time on version reconciliation before it builds.
