Open Source RTS game made in Godot 4

A Godot 4 RTS template/mechanics showcase from Lampe Games — not a real game, but a reference implementation of core RTS systems (fog of war, minimap, unit swarm movement, runtime player/AI switching) in GDScript. Aimed at Godot developers who want to build an RTS and don't want to work out fog-of-war or pathfinding-adjacent swarm logic from scratch.

Deliberately narrow scope — one species, two resources, deathmatch only — keeps the codebase readable if you're mining it for a specific mechanic rather than trying to ship a full game. Maintains separate branches for Godot 4.0 through 4.3, so you can pull the version that matches your project instead of fighting API drift. The feature checklist in the README (fog of war, units disappearing in fog, minimap, swarm movement, runtime player switching) doubles as a table of contents for which systems are actually implemented versus stubbed.

Last push was January 2025, so it's been over a year and a half without activity — no signal on whether issues or PRs still get reviewed. No sounds, music, or VFX, and the UI is explicitly unpolished per the checklist, so this is a logic reference, not something you reskin into a shippable game quickly. The repo is dominated by the bundled Kenney space-kit asset pack (hundreds of .glb files), which buries the actual GDScript source and makes the tree unhelpful for judging code structure at a glance. "Swarm movement to unit" (as opposed to a fixed position) is still unchecked, which matters if your RTS needs units to converge on a moving target.
