An elegant debug assistant for the Laravel framework.
Laravel Telescope is the official debug/observability dashboard for Laravel apps — it hooks into the framework to record requests, exceptions, queries, jobs, mail, cache hits, Redis commands, and more, then shows them in a Vue UI. It's aimed at Laravel developers who want visibility into what a request actually did without reaching for an external APM tool.
It's first-party and wired through Laravel's service container, so there's no separate agent or config file to stand up — install the package and the watchers register themselves. Coverage is genuinely broad: 18 watchers span queries, jobs, gates, notifications, scheduled tasks, and dumps, which is more than most teams would bother instrumenting by hand. The `Authorize` middleware and `InstallCommand`/`PruneCommand` show they thought about the production footprint, not just local dev.
By default entries land in your primary database via `DatabaseEntriesRepository`, so every watched query, job, and request becomes an extra write against the same DB your app is trying to serve — that's a real cost if you forget to prune or scope it to local/staging. The frontend is a bundled, pre-compiled Vue app (`dist/app.js`) rather than something meant to be extended or themed, so if the built-in screens don't match your workflow you're stuck. There's no visible sampling mechanism in the watcher list — it looks like an all-or-nothing capture, which on a busy production app means either a lot of noise or you turning it off entirely rather than dialing it down.
