At LinkedIn, we are using this curriculum for onboarding our entry-level talents into the SRE role.

This is LinkedIn's internal SRE onboarding curriculum, open-sourced as a structured set of markdown lessons covering Linux, networking, SQL/NoSQL, systems design, monitoring, and security. It's aimed at people trying to break into SRE/infra roles without a traditional systems background — new grads, career switchers, self-taught devs.

The breadth in one place is genuinely rare: Linux internals, TCP/UDP/DNS/HTTP, MySQL internals down to InnoDB and binlog replication formats, NoSQL concepts, big data basics, and systems design all sit under one syllabus instead of being scattered across blog posts. Content is organized progressively (level101 to level102) so it reads like an actual course, not a link dump. It's been used to onboard real hires at LinkedIn, so the material has been pressure-tested against actual juniors rather than written in a vacuum. Most modules end with further-reading references for going deeper.

It's static prose and screenshots, not runnable labs — there's no sandbox, no exercises with automated checks, just 'go try this on your own machine.' The docs lean hard on embedded PNG screenshots for command output (dozens per module), which is a maintenance liability as tool output and UI drift and makes nothing copy-pasteable or searchable. Coverage is lopsided: the Python/web module is basically one Flask tutorial and a URL shortener, while Linux and networking get far more depth. There's no visible content-freshness signal per module, so parts likely reflect whatever LinkedIn's stack looked like when each section was written rather than current tooling.
