🔥居家办公,远程开发神器

natpass is a self-hosted host management tool: a server, a client on each machine, and a web dashboard that opens a shell, a VNC desktop, or a code-server session over a TLS link. It is aimed at people who want to reach their own home or office machines without a commercial remote-access product. The README and docs are in Chinese, which narrows the audience considerably.

The transport is one multiplexed async link with protobuf encoding and gzip, so shell, VNC and code-server traffic share a connection instead of each opening its own. The web shell uses real pty devices on Linux and macOS and PowerShell on Windows, and VNC includes clipboard read and write. The 20 MB footprint and the throughput figures are stated in the README, and the bench rule ships in rule/bench so the numbers can be rerun.

The desktop support is narrower than the feature list suggests. The VNC table marks arm and arm64 as unsupported on Windows and Linux. File transfer, web-based rule management and session recording are still open in the TODO list. The Windows build also needs the symlinked third-party directories under html/ replaced by hand. The README forbids commercial use, including hosted cloud desktops, which sits oddly beside the MIT license and matters if you wanted to run it as a service. The performance numbers are one VMware run on a single 4C2G VM, reported by the author and not independently reproduced.
