// the take
A .NET Web API for organizing personal and group events, with friend invitations and notification handling, built as a reference implementation of Clean Architecture / CQRS / DDD patterns in C#. It's aimed at developers who want a worked example of that architectural style more than at anyone looking for a usable events product.
CQRS is properly separated into Commands/Queries with their own handlers and FluentValidation validators wired through a MediatR pipeline behavior, plus a separate TransactionBehaviour for unit-of-work commits. Domain events and integration events are kept distinct, with handlers that translate domain events into integration events published to a separate BackgroundTasks project — a real decoupling of web request handling from side effects like notifications. Abstractions (IJwtProvider, IDbContext, IPasswordHasher, IEmailService) are interface-first, so swapping implementations doesn't touch application logic.
The README is a single line ('The end!') — no setup instructions, no architecture diagram, no explanation of what 'configurable notification systems' actually means or which channels are implemented. Last push was mid-2024, so it's over a year stale with no indication anyone is maintaining it. This reads as a teaching artifact for clean architecture rather than a project meant to run in production: no visible deployment docs, no mention of multi-tenancy, rate limiting, or refresh tokens for the JWT auth. Anyone adopting it is adopting a pattern to copy, not a system to operate.
