My personal site ✌🏼.

This is the Jekyll source for Mu-An Chiou's personal site — a minimal, mostly-static HTML/CSS build with a couple of her own tiny web components (open-heart, open-stories) standing in for the JS frameworks it deliberately avoids. It's for developers who want a reference for a fast, low-dependency personal site built on GitHub Pages rather than a reusable library or framework.

The 'anti-JS' approach is backed by actual engineering, not just restraint — reactions and story widgets are separate, narrowly-scoped custom elements instead of a bundled framework, so the page stays light. The license split (content under full copyright, code under MIT) is handled cleanly and is a sane default for anyone forking a personal site. GitHub Actions handle the recurring chores (robots.txt generation, notes processing) instead of leaving them as manual steps, which is more automation than most personal sites bother with.

It runs on Ruby/Jekyll, a toolchain that's increasingly annoying to stand up locally (Bundler version mismatches, native gem builds) compared to the static site generators most people reach for now. The custom elements it depends on (open-heart-element, open-stories-element) live in separate repos maintained by the same person, so pulling this in means picking up that maintenance risk too. There's no test suite or any documentation of the 'anti-javascript-javascript-club' philosophy beyond the name, so as a learning resource it shows the what but not the why — you're reverse-engineering intent from the diff, not reading a design rationale.
