Postman collection for the Plaid API
An official Postman collection for Plaid's banking API, covering everything from basic Item/Link token flows to niche products like Income, Check, Identity Verification, and Layer. It's aimed at developers evaluating or integrating Plaid who want to poke at the API before writing any code.
The environment variables auto-chain requests (public_token flows into the exchange call, access_token into product calls), so you can go from sandbox zero to a real response in a handful of clicks. It bundles example response JSON for Auth, Balance, Identity, and Transactions, which is genuinely useful for designing your data models before you've made a single API call. The Production walkthrough (link.html + browser console token grab) is a pragmatic workaround for Postman's inability to render Plaid Link itself.
It's a Postman export, not code — no CI, no versioning against Plaid's API releases, so there's no signal when it drifts from the live API besides manual testing. A meaningful chunk of the collection (Check Consumer Reports, Identity Verification, Layer) is unusable until you file an access request or talk to sales, which isn't obvious until you're mid-flow. The Production setup still requires manually copying tokens between a browser console and Postman fields, which is exactly the kind of manual step a collection like this should be eliminating by now.
