Validates your Go installation and dependencies.

A small CLI that sanity-checks your Go dev environment: version, PATH setup, CGO/gcc availability, and whether editor plugins for Go are installed. Aimed at people onboarding a new machine or debugging a broken toolchain setup.

The checks target real, recurring pain points (PATH misconfiguration and missing CGO deps are classic 'why won't my build work' issues for Go newcomers). Output is clear pass/fail/warn per check with the exact PATH export command to fix it, so it's actually actionable rather than just diagnostic. Codebase is tiny and each check lives in its own file (checkgo.go, checkpath.go, etc.), easy to read in five minutes.

Dead project — last push was November 2023 and it predates Go modules being the default, generics, and several Go version releases, so the version check logic is likely stale for anyone on Go 1.21+. Editor support is hardcoded to just Vim and VS Code; nothing for GoLand, Neovim+LSP, or Zed. No tests in the repo despite this being a checker tool where correctness matters. Install instructions still say `go get -u`, which no longer works as documented for binary installs since Go 1.17.
