WeCompose is a small Android app that recreates the WeChat UI (chat list, chat details, contacts, discovery, profile) in Jetpack Compose. It's companion code for a paid Chinese-language video course on Compose, not a standalone library or template — the README is one line pointing to the course.

Covers real UI patterns people actually hit in Compose apps — a bottom nav bar, nested list/detail navigation, and chat bubbles — rather than another counter or to-do demo. Codebase is small and flat enough to read end-to-end in an afternoon (a handful of files under ui/, one ViewModel, two data classes). Uses a Gradle version catalog (libs.versions.toml) so dependency versions are centralized instead of scattered across build files.

Everything routes through a single WeViewModel.kt, so there's no real state-management or architecture pattern to learn here beyond 'put it in one ViewModel' — not something to copy into a production app. Test directories only contain the default Android Studio boilerplate (ExampleInstrumentedTest, ExampleUnitTest), so there's zero actual test coverage despite having a UI layer worth testing. No README beyond a single Chinese sentence linking to the paid course — no setup notes, no explanation of what each screen demonstrates, so the code is only useful if you're also watching the video. Hardcoded sample data (Chat.kt, User.kt) with no networking or persistence layer, so it doesn't show how Compose integrates with a real data source.
