The hooks scripts are actual JavaScript you can run, not just links — secret-scanner.js, auto-test.js, commit-guard.js are real files with real behavior. The '176+ plugins' headline conflates ~100 in-repo markdown stubs (plugins/a11y-audit/commands/run-audit.md is a markdown file, not a plugin) with real third-party repos — misleading count. The star counts embedded in the README are manually maintained and already look wrong (gstack at 68,200+?), so they'll diverge from reality fast. There's no quality signal per entry: a well-tested tool with CI and 10k stars sits in the same table row as someone's weekend experiment with no README — you can't tell which is which without clicking. Community-submitted lists without a pruning process accumulate dead links and abandoned repos; this one will age badly without active maintenance.
