The Official Twilio SendGrid Golang API Library

The official Go client for the Twilio SendGrid v3 Web API, covering the mail send endpoint along with the account, template, suppression and stats endpoints. It suits Go services that send transactional or marketing email through SendGrid and would rather not hand-roll the HTTP calls.

- The escape hatch works: sendgrid.GetRequest and sendgrid.API let you call any v3 endpoint with a raw body, so a new endpoint does not have to wait for the library to add a typed wrapper.

- The mail helper maps the v3 send payload onto Go structs (personalizations, substitutions, sections, custom args, categories). Each feature has a with-helper and a without-helper page in use-cases/, so you can check the exact JSON that goes over the wire.

- The inbound parse and event webhook helpers ship with sample multipart payloads and tests (helpers/inbound/sample_data, eventwebhook_test.go). Those are the parts most people get wrong when they write them from scratch.

- The README's supported-versions list stops at Go 1.19, which is years behind what most teams run in 2026. Check the go.mod directive yourself before you depend on it.

- Neither client.Send nor sendgrid.API takes a context.Context in the README examples, so a caller cannot cancel or deadline an individual send. A stalled request ties up its goroutine until the underlying HTTP client gives up.

- Raw requests are built as JSON string literals, as the without-helper examples show. A malformed body or a misspelled field only fails at runtime against the live API, and nothing in the library validates it first.

- In the visible tree, only the client, the Twilio email code, and the two helpers have test files. The examples/ directory covers most of the API surface as standalone main programs, so regressions in suppression, templates, stats and similar areas are not caught by the test suite.
