Assorted useful tools, almost entirely generated using LLMs

A grab-bag of 200+ single-file HTML/JS utilities that Simon Willison built almost entirely by prompting LLMs, each one small enough to fit in one file and deployed straight to a static site. It's aimed at developers curious about prompt-driven development as a practice, not at anyone looking for a library to depend on.

Every tool ships with a linked .docs.md transcript of the actual prompts and commit history that produced it, which is a rare, honest artifact of what LLM-assisted coding looks like in practice rather than a marketing claim about it. Tools are zero-build single HTML files, so reading or forking one takes seconds with no npm chain to untangle. A handful go well beyond wrapper-script territory: gifsicle, mermaid-ascii, and a QuickJS build are compiled to WASM from Rust/Go/C, and the CI includes an automated Claude code-review step on PRs.

There's no shared structure across tools, so UI chrome and boilerplate get reinvented per file with no reuse; this is a pile of independent scripts, not a library or framework. Test coverage is about deployment plumbing, not tool correctness, so quality is whatever a given LLM session happened to produce that day. There's nothing to install or import: adopting anything here means copy-pasting a single file, and you're on your own to verify it does what the docs.md transcript claims. Given the explicit low-stakes framing, don't expect maintenance guarantees or backward compatibility if you build on top of one.
