slashbase/slashbaseide
Modern database IDE for your dev & data workflows. Supports MySQL, PostgreSQL & MongoDB.
Slashbase is a Go and Wails desktop IDE for MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, with an optional self-hosted browser mode built on the same backend. It is for developers who want one GUI for browsing data, saving queries and making quick charts instead of a separate client per database. The last push was in April 2024, and the README still labels it beta at v0.10.
The desktop and server builds are thin entry points over a shared internal/common layer of controllers, DAOs and models, so both modes run the same query path. Each database engine lives in its own package under pkg/queryengines, which keeps the per-database code contained. SSH tunnelling is a separate package (pkg/sshtunnel), which matters for databases behind a bastion host. Query history is persisted through a dbquerylog model and DAO, and the pkg/sbsql helpers suggest stored connection data is encrypted rather than kept in plain text.
Nothing has been pushed since April 2024, so this is a snapshot of a project that may have stalled; check open issues and recent releases before adopting it. The only test files visible in the tree cover the MySQL and pgx utility helpers, with nothing for the MongoDB engine, the controllers, or the execution paths that touch live databases. The roadmap still lists SQLite and Redis as unfinished, and the GPT-backed SQL generation sends prompts to an external paid API. Linux installs need glibc 2.31 and libwebkit2gtk-4.0, which rules out older distributions.
