A framework for building typesafe web backends in Rust

rspc is a tRPC-style RPC layer for Rust that lets you define typed query/mutation/subscription procedures on the backend and get generated TypeScript bindings on the frontend, with adapters for Axum and Tauri and query-client wrappers for React, Solid, Svelte and TanStack Query. It's aimed at Rust+TS full-stack or Tauri desktop apps that want to skip hand-written REST/OpenAPI clients — but as of this repo, it's dead.

Real breadth of client integration: separate packages for react-query, solid-query, svelte-query and tanstack-query plus a Tauri command bridge, so it wasn't just built for one framework. The crate split (procedure, validator, cache, invalidation, devtools) shows an actual attempt at separating concerns rather than one monolithic router crate. A devtools crate with its own tracing/types module means someone cared about debuggability, not just the happy-path demo.

The README leads with a maintenance-stopped notice pointing to a GitHub discussion — this is not a repo to build new production code on, full stop. There are two parallel API surfaces in the tree (crates/legacy alongside the newer procedure/router split in rspc/src), which means anyone picking this up mid-migration has to figure out which API is actually current from source, not docs. The README itself is a single toy example with no explanation of middleware, context, or the invalidation system that clearly exists in the codebase (crates/invalidation even has a RESEARCH.md, which is a bad sign for API stability). No migration guide or recommended alternative is given for people already depending on it.
