Supabase UI Library
An early React component library Supabase built for its own dashboard and offered publicly, bundling things like Button, Modal, and a drop-in Auth widget with social login. It's for anyone who used Supabase UI pre-2022 and needs context on where things went, not for anyone starting fresh today.
The Auth component is genuinely plug-and-play: pass a supabase-js client and you get a working social-login form with a context provider for session state, no wiring required. Icons are vendored as one tree-shakeable component per icon rather than a single sprite import. Storybook backs most components, so each one ships with a runnable usage example instead of just prop tables.
The README opens by telling you it's deprecated and components moved to the main supabase/supabase monorepo, with Auth split into its own package (supabase-community/auth-ui) - this repo is a dead end. Last push was March 2024 and the roadmap still shows Table, Tooltips, Date picker, and Forms unchecked after years, so it never covered what a real dashboard needs. There's a visible false start in the README itself: an abandoned alpha branch shows they tried switching from CSS modules to Tailwind-only and walked it back, so the styling approach you'd be building on was never settled. 1,637 stars but zero reason to add this as a dependency now that the components and the actively maintained Auth package live elsewhere.
